A Good Excuse to Get a Blow Out

Welcoming to the blog our rockin' stylist Stacy! This boss lady comes to talk about the importance of the Malibu and Blowout. As we've blogged before a Malibu treatment can be a GAME CHANGER for your hair's looks and health. Now who wants a (good) excuse to include a blowout into the mix!? Take it away, Stacy!

Hey all! As we all know our water here in Nashville has lots of minerals and toxins that we often filter out for drinking. Shouldn't we do this for our showers as well? If you don't already have a filter I would highly recommend it! (Read more on that here!) Minerals in our hair can be just as bad as minerals in our bodies and even with the best shower filter they will sneak their way in causing your hair to be dry, brittle, dull and add brassy tones to your color. One way to remove these minerals out of your hair is a crystalized vitamin c gel treatment called a Malibu. This treatment restores the hair to a cleansed strand. (Maybe you're familiar, maybe not. Check more out about it here.) Now, the Malibu is great on it's own but, if you really want to get the biggest bang for your buck, I recommend a conditioning treatment to fill your hair followed by a blow out.

Most women ask "What is a blow out and why do I need one?" So here we go. A blow out is blow drying the hair in a downward motion following with a round brush specifically chosen for your hair texture to seal the cuticle. When the cuticle is sealed properly it is stronger, shinier, and retains more nutrients! *Insert celebration emoji here* When your hair is dry, brittle and dull it is the perfect time for you to get a blow out and add a deep conditioning treatment.

Now bringing it full circle! When getting a Malibu and/or conditioning treatment it is key to get a blow out to seal all the protein, lipids, and moisture into each strand! As if you needed a better excuse to get a blowout.

Meet Stacy!

I began my career eight years ago, and the desire to learn has never surrendered. I have since enjoyed furthering my education in cut, color, braiding, all forms of extensions, blonding and balayage, as well as, leadership training.

Before cosmetology, the creative arts were my first love. Art doesn't judge; it knows no boundaries, and can just be. I now use my love for art and color to create a wearable canvas.

In my seven years as a stylist, I've been fortunate to have learned about the chemical footprint we leave on Earth and what we can do to change it. Being vegan, I believe every aspect of what goes into ones body needs to support this lifestyle. When I came across Pure, I knew it would be the right fit for me.

I'm grateful for being able to combine my passion and career aspirations with my unending impulse for wanderlust. My styling has taken me around the corners of Tennessee, Las Vegas, and Jamaica. I love having the chance to share my gift at home or anywhere on the road. Creating lasting relationships and cherishing life's indelible moments are what keep the globe spinning.
